Middlesbrough Riverside & Transporter Bridge

Riverside Stadium home of Middlesbrough Football club since 1995. Situated in the Middlehaven docks area of Middlesbrough, once a thriving ship building area. A tricky lighting situation with multiple light sources with different colour temperatures.

From the stadium car park there is still industry visible on the River Tees, an of shoot of the river passes right buy the stadium and leads to Middlesbrough dock.

If I went back to reshoot this area I would be sure to take a powerful torch to illuminate the derelict slipway and boat wreck that is just visible in the bottom of this shot.

The long unused Middlesbrough dock is now surrounded by offices and the controversially designed Middlesbrough college. It was tricky to get an uninterrupted view of the buildings and their reflections with the focal range I had available to me but I think the shaped railings kind of point/lead to the subject.

A short walk along the river from the stadium leads to the iconic Transporter Bridge which spans the Tees

A popular and often photographed view of the Transporter Bridge also takes into view the ‘postholes’ in the derelict wall on Vulcan Street which once formed part of The Cleveland Sale works.
